Schleeman, Stenson and Moodry land on the West Shrine roster

The 77th annual Montana Shrine game will take place in Billings on June 15 at 7 p.m. Three Mining City football players will take the field in the West selection.

The East Team is coached by Rob Stanton of Billings West. Stanton completed his ninth season and led the Bears to the “AA” state championship in 2018. Stanton’s teams were runners-up in 2020 and 2021. Stanton’s teams have made nine straight quarterfinal appearances. Stanton is also the boys and girls track and field coach and has led his teams to 9 state championships. Stanton was elected to the Montana Coaching Hall of Fame in 2020.

Leading the West team is Florence-Carlton’s Pat Duchien. Pat graduated from Canby Union High School (OR) and Montana Western. He started his coaching career in 2012 as an assistant at Florence and became head coach in 2017. The Florence Falcons have won state championships in 2021, 2022 and 2023. He and his wife Christy have two sons: Patrick (2023 Montana Shrine Game) and Brodie.
