Preventing a storm of mass shootings

Two years after a racially motivated mass shooting left 10 Black people dead at a Buffalo supermarket, NY1’s Errol Louis spoke with Jackie Bray, the first female commissioner of the state’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services.

Bray joined Errol to discuss a new task force created to prevent mass shootings by using public health tools and targeting the hatred and radicalization of perpetrators. They also discussed the impact propaganda has in driving people toward dangerous ideologies, her early days in public service and her concerns about this year’s hurricane season.
