National Donut Day events and deals in Eugene, the rest of Lane County

On Friday, Voodoo Donut in downtown Eugene will celebrate National Donut Day with pink-glazed donuts for $10 a dozen.

Another donut shop offering a special for National Donut Day is Bizzy Jean’s Donuts in Springfield, which is offering an extra donut for free per dozen purchased.

All Market of Choice locations in Oregon have a 25% discount on fresh donuts purchased from the store’s bakery.

When is National Donut Day?

National Donut Day typically falls on the first Friday of each June. This year, National Donut Day falls on June 7.

According to the National Day Calendar, National Donut Day is also celebrated in honor of the Salvation Army’s Lassies, a group of women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.

The day was officially established in 1938 as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army in Chicago to help those in need during the Great Depression
