The finale of Top Chef season 21 sets off on a new culinary journey aboard HAL’s Eurodam

Each season, the Top Chef finale travels to a beautiful location, influencing the remaining challenges that stand between the chefs and the coveted title of food television. The Top Chef season 21 finale takes the Cheftestants away from the frozen tundra of Wisconsin for a Caribbean escape on Holland America Line’s Eurodam.

Top Chef is more than just a food television competition. Bravo’s celebrated show has taken award-winning, celebrated chefs and given them a global platform to showcase their talents. Many of today’s most sought-after chefs have battled their way through Quickfires and Elimination Challenges.

While the platform offers tremendous visibility for the chefs, it is equally important for the location of each season. Food is an essential part of travel decisions. Many people seek out the restaurants and locations that are common in each season. It’s one of the reasons why many cities and states covet the opportunity to host Top Chef.

Although one location is highlighted for the season, each finale travels to a different location. From cooking in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower to exploring the markets of Macau, the production team balances vibrant experiences with destinations viewers want to visit. Just as the show effectively integrates all its brand partnerships, viewers want to see themselves experience that culinary moment.

For the finale of Top Chef season 21, the location is a first for the iconic food television series. Filmed on location aboard Holland America Line’s Eurodam, the chefs enjoyed the ship experiences, were influenced by the Caribbean itinerary and enjoyed a unique meal prepared by Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Holland America’s Fresh Fish Ambassador Line.

Jamie Cutburth, Executive Vice President, Creative Partnerships, Advertising and Partnerships, explained the importance of the partnership between Holland America Line and Top Chef, saying: “For twenty years, Bravo’s ‘Top Chef’ has united fans through their love of food, travel and culture. And throughout the show’s iconic legacy, we’ve partnered with brands to take each season of the award-winning culinary competition to the next level. This incredible partnership with Holland America Line offers fans a unique opportunity to watch the final four chef testees get a taste of vacation and fresh seafood as they embark on their journey to see who earns the title of ‘Top Chef.’

While viewers will have to watch the intricacies of the penultimate episode of Top Chef season 21, airing June 12, this collaboration between Holland America Line and Top Chef is more than just a series of challenges and enticing visuals. It’s a clear example of how a food television show can connect with fans off-screen.

With the cruise industry on the rise, many people are ready, willing and able to hop aboard and sail away for a blissful vacation. Enticing ports of call and entertainment may keep people engaged, but it’s the food and beverage experiences that differentiate one cruise brand from another. The Top Chef connection with Holland America Line should impact the discerning culinary traveler who wants a fine dining experience.

Discussing this partnership, Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line, said: “We are laser-focused on providing exceptional culinary experiences to our guests, and partnering with Bravo’s ‘Top Chef’ is an incredible opportunity to not only draw attention to draw on our global Fresh Fish program, but to provide an insight into cruising. It was exciting to take Chef Morimoto to Eurodam to prepare a meal for the chef testees and showcase some of his dishes that we serve on board.”

As seen in the upcoming episode of Top Chef Season 21, Holland America Line’s Global Fresh Fish program and Chef Morimoto’s signature dishes will be featured. The highly regarded seafood program is a hallmark of the cruise line and demonstrates its commitment to offering the freshest ingredients from local sources. It’s a new layer in the cruise line’s commitment to sustainable food choices.

While this collaboration between Top Chef and Holland America makes a big splash in the season 21 finale, many fans will be hoping that the episodes are just a taste of what could be a long-lasting partnership. Since themed cruises are extremely popular, there could be a Top Chef itinerary in the future. Time will tell.
