National Donut Day: Celebrate with treats, deals in Berkeley

BERKELEY, NJ – Few things are more fun in life than nibbling into a delicious baked pastry, and that’s what we’ll be celebrating Friday.

June 7 is National Donut Day, which was founded in 1938 as a way for the Salvation Army to honor its members who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.

Nowadays, local shops and chains celebrate this day by offering sweet deals on sweet treats.
