Lancaster HS baseball players take home All-OCC, Central District postseason awards

LANCASTER – Although the Lancaster baseball team fell one game short of winning the Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye Division title, the Golden Gales still had a solid season.

Several players were recognized with postseason honors for their performances. Lancaster finished with an overall record of 18-8 and 12-3 in the league and came in second.

Junior catcher Zach Mowder was selected first-team All-OCC and second-team All-Central District. Senior Dylan Bird earned first-team All-OCC honors and was named honorable mention All-District.

Senior Jakub Akers and sophomore Kam Griffith were named second-team All-OCC and honorable mention All-District.

Senior Jackson Burke received a league-wide special mention and Darren Ramsey received an honorable mention.

Hayden Allen was named an OCC-Buckeye Division Scholar-Athlete.

Lancaster baseball coach Corey Conn, who just earned his 11the season as coach of the Gales, reached a milestone by winning his 200e career game, and his win total now stands at 202.
