VIGO PARK, TexasA hailstone from the Texas Panhandle could set a new state record.

On Sunday, June 2, huge hailstones fell in the area of ​​Vigo Park, about 60 miles south of Amarillo.

Storm chaser Val Castor found a hailstone more than 12 centimeters long.

Photos show the rock next to a can of Monster Energy Drink. The company says the can is 6.2 inches.

According to the National Centers for Environmental Information, the largest hailstone in the US was discovered in South Dakota in 2010.
