Local breweries celebrate their craft under Brew Skies

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) Under Brew Skies beer festival will be held on Saturday, June 8 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The event features breweries from as close as Fargo and as far as South Dakota. The event will be held at Essentia Health Plaza at the Lights in West Fargo, featuring 17 breweries.

Tickets for the event cost $45, which will allow event attendees to sample beers from participating breweries. Food trucks will also be present at the event.

Icewind Brewer of Mapleton, Rick Brandvold of North Dakota, says this is not only an opportunity to try beers from around the region, but also to support the local agricultural industry that provides the key ingredients for the beer.

“Especially in this community, we’re an agriculture-based state, so we need people drinking beer so we can support the farmers and the barley. We’re doing a small hop farm now in North Dakota, so drink local, drink beer,” Brandvold said.

This is the fourth year of the Under Brew Skies beer festival, hosted by the North Dakota Brewer’s Guild. Later that evening, food trucks and an afterparty will be held at Icewind Brewing. Brandvold stressed that anyone planning to attend any of the festivities should make sure he or she has a sober ride home.
