A huge party took place Friday at the home of Chicago Bears legend Steve “Mongo” McMichael in Homer Glen.

CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago Bears legend Steve McMichael will not be able to travel to Canton, Ohio for his Hall of Fame induction due to complications from his ongoing battle with ALS, a family spokesman said in a statement Friday.

“Mongo” was announced earlier this year as one of this year’s nominees.

The former Bear has been struggling with ALS since 2021.

“Steve McMichael will not be able to travel to Canton, Ohio for his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame due to complications from ALS that he has so bravely battled for the past three years. The Hall of Fame is making plans to celebrate his honor at his home to reach,” reads a spokesperson’s statement.
