10 day forecast

As a surface low moves northeast through the region, we may see a few isolated thunderstorms emerge this evening. Tomorrow, a shortwave trough at the Nebraska-South Dakota border and a cold front moving in from the northwest will produce thunderstorms that could be severe, especially in parts west to central Nebraska and Kansas. One of the main issues will be the threat of flooding as many areas are still trying to dry out from recent heavy rains. Chances for storms remain on Monday, but the overall threat is low. As we head into Tuesday, another disturbance and a strong cold front means the possibility of more severe weather. As we cross the border Tuesday night into Wednesday, we will see a large area of high pressure followed by a period of drier conditions and a stable weather pattern.
