The Switch Up – In conversation with Senate hopeful Angela Alsobrooks

Maryland hopeful Angela Alsobrooks won Tuesday’s Democratic primary for the state’s open Senate seat. She now moves on to the general election in November.

The race, between Prince George’s County Executive and incumbent Rep. David Trone, was one of the most contentious in the country.

If elected, Alsobrooks would become the first Black woman to represent the Old Line State in the Senate and only the fourth Black woman to ever serve in the Senate.

The Switch Up spoke with Alsobrooks ahead of the May primary and talked about the history she could make.
