Benoit Blanc and his Kentucky Fried Foghorn Leghorn accent return for his “most dangerous case yet.” That’s how Daniel Craig’s brilliant detective described his next outing in the announcement trailer for Rian Johnson’s third Knives out term, Waking Dead man. Who’s joining Craig this time for some murder mystery fun? What is the movie about? And when (and where) can we expect it?

Well, we can expect a lot of people. There have been so many casting announcements in the past few days that we’re wondering if we’re in this movie too. The last Knives out Joining the cast is Josh Brolin, who joins an all-star cast that certainly can’t fail in this film.

There is also Good luck to you, Leo Grande‘s Daryl McCormack. He’ll probably need some luck to get out alive… if he’s not a murderer.

Another addition to the Wake up, dead man cast is Jeremy Renner. That’s a bit of a surprise, but we’ll see where this goes. This will be his first role since he had an accident with a snow plow in 2023.

Here’s everything we know about Netflix Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery so far.

Knives out 3 will be titled Wake Up Dead Man

Knives out 3 officially has the title Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The second half of that title also appeared in Glass onion‘s title, much to Rian Johnson’s chagrin.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery‘s Plot

benoit blanc from Knives out 2, Daniel Craig returns in Knives out 3

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery doesn’t have an official synopsis, but we do have some early clues about what to expect from it. Johnson’s announcement of the film included comments about how much he loves the malleability of whodunits. Combined with calling Benoit Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet,” everything points toward the darkest entry in the franchise yet.

The title and accompanying font also suggest that the film will have something to do with pirates. (Although we can’t rule out the movie being about U2. Hopefully The Edge is safe either way.)

Does this mean that an old-fashioned treasure hunt has failed? A setting somewhere in the Caribbean? Arr, until we get something more official, we can let our imaginations run wild, just like the sea. (Sorry.)
